Leonard good question. A simple signature is just plain text. So you can create the file using any text editor (Notepad or Wordpad). Save the file (ex. main_signature.txt) in a location you can find it.

Then go to the option menu for Signature Switcher. Click on add new. Enter a description and then add the file you created in the step above. Click OK.

Another thing to get more out of this extension. Create a new mail message. When the Compose window opens up right-click on the toolbar. Then click on customize. You can then add or remove items on the toolbar. Add the Signature Switcher to the toolbar. Click OK. Now every time you write a new email the compose window will give you easy access to the Signature Switcher.

I often get lost in computer stuff. I love Mozilla, Thunderbird, etc, as well as the extensions. I don't understand how it works, but love it when it does. Tried to use Signature Switch, but was not able to actually set a signature, and could not find any instructions as to how to do it. Do I set my signature in another program and then point back to it? Frustratingly fun for the geekly inept.
